Christmas is Coming!
Christmas is on its way once again and I think for many it will perhaps be a bit more frugal than usual. To help jolly things along at Thomas & Lucia we have just had two Christmas preview evenings that were very enjoyable. Customers were able to browse in comfort with a good glass of wine in one hand and a homemade mince pie in the other. We had a great turnout, so thanks to everybody that was able to attend, especially those who braved the atrocious weather on the 2nd night.
We have lots of Christmas Gift ideas at Thomas and Lucia. For example warm cuddly throws from Shruti, lots of sparkling votive tea lights, fantastic smelling candles from True Grace and Bath House’s range of toiletries for Him & Her.
Last Sunday Sue and I spent a little over 7 hours rearranging the shop so we could put up our 3rd real Christmas tree. It now stands in pride of place in the middle of the shop, is suspended from the ceiling, has over 1,000 lights on it and you can walk around it. Now for me that’s a first! I Have always wanted to have a big tree that I could walk around – only took me nearly 50 years! Please come and see the tree if you get a chance, best obviously when it’s dark. Our trees are adorned with special selected glass baubles and hanging decorations from around Europe from famous suppliers like Gisela Graham, Birch craft and Grand Illusions. If you’re a local you may know about the Christchurch Christmas Festival on Saturday 5th Dec. There are loads of activities planned in Bargates and Christchurch High Street. The main event is Father Christmas and his real reindeer that will process from Peeks near the station, through Bargates to the town centre where they end up near the Priory. Bargates has lots of activities planned for all ages and there is a Christmas Fair in the town centre. You can see Bargates plans for the day on the flyer.
