Furniture Painting

Painting Was Never This Easy!

Well actually, it has been ever since Annie Sloan invented her Chalk Paint™ in 1990. Her paint has become increasing popular over the years and is now a worldwide phenomenon and has given rise to many lookalike products.

The popularity of Chalk Paint™ comes firstly from the fact that there is normally no preparation required, secondly using it is an enjoyable and even a cathartic process and finally its versatility means that you can create many different looks with minimal effort.

It really is that easy to upcyle or re-purpose your furniture or breathe new life into your kitchen/bedroom units and at a fraction of the cost of replacement. And is a more environmentally friendly solution too.

Up until September 2018 Thomas & Lucia was one of the largest stockists of Annie Sloan products in the UK. However, we decided to specialist in renovating furniture and kitchens using Chalk Paint™ (we also use other brands of paint), so we closed our shop and opened a new workshop in Sway. We can now offer both hand and spray painting services for all sorts of furniture and for all sorts of tastes.

Painting Service

While it is easy to do-it-yourself we realise that not everybody has the time or wants to do the painting themselves so we also offer a painting service. This can be for a pretty much anything from say a bedside cupboard or chest of drawers to small dressers and sideboards to your entire dining suite. We can provide a professional sprayed contemporary finish or we can hand-paint and create lots of decorative effects. Items painted in Chalk Paint™ (other paint brands available) can be finished in Annie Sloan Clear Wax or a wax finish acrylic varnish, the latter is great for side tables or table tops as it is heat resistant.

If your kitchen or fixed bedroom units are looking tired or old fashioned then we can paint those too. It is amazing how a bit or paint, maybe with some new knobs can give you the 'new' look for a fraction of the price of replacement.
